In connection with Bulgaria’s upcoming adoption of the euro on 1 January 2026, we would like to draw your attention to the following important information.
As of 1 January 2026, Bulgaria will officially adopt the euro, and the Bulgarian lev (BGN) will no longer be tradable.
- Please ensure that all your BGN balances are converted into another currency or transferred to another account no later than 23 December 2025.
- All remaining BGN balances will be automatically converted into euros on 29 December 2025 at the fixed conversion rate of 1.95583 EUR/BGN.
- Any incoming payments in BGN received after 23 December 2025 will be automatically converted into eurosat the same fixed conversion rate of 1.95583 EUR/BGN.
- 23 December 2025 is the final date on which outgoing payments in BGN can be processed.
